About Us
The Bike Wise Challenge is about encouraging people who don't normally ride to hop on a bike, give it a go and have fun. That's why the competition rewards those who achieve the highest staff participation rates.The Bike Wise Challenge is part of Bike Wise Month - a nationwide series of events that promote safe cycling as a sustainable, fun, healthy and enjoyable means of transport. Bike Wise is funded by the NZ Transport Agency and the Ministry of Health and is the only nationwide programme of cycling events.
In 2009, approximately 50,000 people took part in hundreds of cycling events and activities across the country. The NZ Transport Agency is keen to achieve a similar level of participation in the future.
